Avian Influenza
1. 10 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry and 16 in Wild Birds in Germany
On October 20, 21, and 23, Germany reported 10 HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and 16 in wild birds in five regions including Thuringia, resulting in 497 poultry deaths and the culling of 23,000 poultry. Additionally, 17 wild birds died from infection.
2. 12 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry and 13 in Wild Birds in the United States
On October 20 and 24, the United States reported 12 HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and 13 in wild birds across eight regions, including Wisconsin. The outbreaks led to the deaths of 11,000 poultry and the culling of 5.86 million. Additionally, 97 wild birds and free-range poultry died from infection, and 247 were culled.
3. 3 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry in Cambodia
On October 20, Cambodia reported three HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry across three regions, including Kampong Speu Province, resulting in the deaths of 23 poultry and the culling of 154.
4. 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry and 5 in Wild Birds in Denmark
On October 20 and 22, Denmark reported two HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and five in wild birds across three regions, including Slagelse Municipality. The outbreaks resulted in the deaths of 335 poultry, while nine wild birds were infected, six of which died.

On October 20 and 22, Poland reported three HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and one in wild birds across three regions, including Greater Poland Province. The outbreaks resulted in 36,000 poultry infected, 1,590 deaths, and one wild bird death.

On October 20, Austria reported two HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds across two regions, including Carinthia, resulting in the deaths of three wild birds.

On October 20 and 23, the United Kingdom reported two HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and one in wild birds in England, resulting in 52,000 poultry infected, 1,010 deaths, and six wild bird deaths.

On October 20, Iraq reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in poultry in Nineveh Province, resulting in the deaths of 12,000 poultry and the culling of 62,000.

On October 21, France reported two HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds across two regions, including Loire-Atlantique in the Pays de la Loire region, resulting in the deaths of seven wild birds and free-range poultry.

On October 21, Slovakia reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in wild birds and one in poultry across two regions, including Trnava Region. The outbreaks resulted in 17 wild birds and free-range poultry infected, 15 deaths, 141 culled, and 27 poultry deaths.

On October 21, the British South Georgia Islands reported five HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds and six in mammals in coastal areas, resulting in the deaths of 10 wild birds, two seals, and nine sea lions.

On October 24, the Czech Republic reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in wild birds in the Moravian-Silesian Region, resulting in the death of one wild bird.
